We make soap by hand in small batches, and we sell most of it face to face — at Pelham, Larchmont, Bronxville, Grand Central. When you meet us at the booth, we can hand you a bar, describe how it smells, and answer your questions directly.

We want this website to do the same job for the people who can't make it to a market. That means it has to work for everyone, including customers who browse using a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text and stronger contrast.

What we're doing

We're working through our site with accessibility in mind:

• Writing descriptive text for product photos, so screen readers can describe what's in the jar
• Keeping color contrast strong enough to read comfortably
• Making sure you can move through the site — menus, product pages, cart, checkout — using a keyboard alone
• Using clear, properly ordered headings so the page structure makes sense when it's read aloud
• Labeling forms so it's obvious what each field is asking for

We're aiming for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our standard.

Where we're honest with you

We're a small family business, and this is ongoing work — not a box we've checked. Parts of our site are built on third-party tools we don't fully control, and we know some corners of it aren't where we want them yet. We're improving it as we go.
